Our drama is set in the last major period of analogue technology - the 1960s. However, this is not a straightforward historical re-telling, it is an alternate, imagined history in which the characters are drawn into a deep existential mystery spanning multiple times and places, moving the narrative backwards and forwards across time.
So while our story is largely rooted in the Abbey Road of the Sixties - starting in 1962 and extending across the decade - it also shifts to Abbey Road 100 years from now, to Ancient Britain, to 1930s London where Elgar set up Abbey Road and held seances there, and finally to the Abbey Road site thousands of years in the future. In this swirl of time-bending disorientation, an androgynous 16 year old teenage girl attempts to navigate her way through life, and discovers that she is a significant part of the unravelling puzzle.
