Like other 20th century period dramas such as Mad Men or The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, some of our characters are fully fictional, some are actual historical figures, mostly obscure or forgotten ones, and others are a combination of different historical figures conflated into one character.
This combination of the actual and the imagined allows us to weave a complex tapestry of stories that while rooted in the historical, allow us to go to imaginary and strange places.
